"Mary & Joseph were both of the lineage, or family, or King David. David's city was Bethlehem. So, Mary and Joseph were ordered to go to Bethlehem for the census. Mary was pregnant with her first baby, and it was almost time for the baby to be born."

When Mary and Joseph arrived in Bethlehem they discovered that the city was crowded with many other weary travelers! Mary rode the donkey as Joseph walked from inn to inn asking if there was any room. "There's no room!" he was told, time after time.

Innkeeper: Kierian Hurst

Finally, a kind innkeeper said there was no room, but they could sleep in the stable with the animals. Mary & Joseph gladly accepted his offer.

And there were shepherds, abiding in the field keeping watch over their flocks by night. And lo, the Angel of the Lord came upon them, and they were so afraid!

And suddenly there was with the Angel a multitude of Heavenly Host, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."
